Liquid waste solidification aims to immobilize free water so material can be handled under the receiving facility\u2019s rules. Confirm waste characterization, accepted treatment agents, required tests and any restrictions with the facility before selecting a polymer.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Understand the liquid phase<\/h2>\n

Crosslinked sodium polyacrylate absorbs water and forms a swollen gel. In a sludge or slurry, oil, brine, dissolved salts, extreme pH and dense solids may reduce effective performance. It does not remove contaminants or automatically make hazardous waste nonhazardous.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n

Calculate delivered cost per cubic metre, not only polymer cost per tonne. Verify that mixing equipment distributes powder evenly and that treated waste remains acceptable during transport.
