Polymer – A Plant’s Mini-Reservoir

Polymer, a non-toxic, harmless, and environmentally friendly (biodegradable) substance, serves as a mini-reservoir for plants by absorbing water hundreds of times its weight and transforming into a water gel. This water gel remains dormant until plants require moisture, earning it the nickname “Mini-Reservoir.”

How Does Polymer Work?

Polymer consists of interconnected polymeric chains with cross-linking agents that form a network structure. When water interacts with these chains, it is drawn into the molecule through osmosis and swiftly migrates into the interior of the polymer network for storage. As the soil dries, the polymer gradually releases up to 95% of the absorbed water into the soil, providing sustained hydration to plants.

Applications of Polymer

  1. Enhancing growth in common plants and crops.
  2. Seed coating for improved germination and early growth.
  3. Utilization in gardening, horticulture, and landscape maintenance.
  4. Maintenance of lush lawns and golf courses.
  5. Supporting the growth and health of trees in various environments.

The versatility and efficacy of polymer as a water-absorbent material make it an invaluable tool in sustainable agriculture, ensuring optimal moisture levels for plant health and growth across diverse applications.
